Documents checklist before you apply

Keep attested copies of your CNIC, domicile, matric/intermediate/degree certificates and mark sheets, experience letters, character certificate, and 2–4 recent passport-size photographs ready. Most government ads ask for these with the application or at the test/interview stage.

Read deadlines and age limits carefully

The closing date in the newspaper is final. Age is usually counted on the closing date; government rules allow relaxation for government employees, disabled persons, minorities and some regions. Check the ad for the exact relaxation table.

Preparing for NTS, PTS, OTS and PSC tests

Written tests typically cover English, Urdu, general knowledge, Pakistan affairs, Islamiat, current affairs, basic mathematics and subject-specific questions. Practise past papers and keep your roll-number slip and original CNIC for test day.

Stay safe from fake job offers

Genuine government departments never ask for money to guarantee selection. Verify the ad against the original newspaper or the department website, and never share bank PINs or OTP codes with anyone offering a job.

Writing an application that gets read
