About the role
Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited is seeking experienced professionals for several positions on a contract basis. Vacancies are in technical, design and contract management functions supporting shipbuilding, ship repair and heavy engineering activities. Successful candidates will work under production schedules and manage project requirements, contracts and engineering deliverables.
Posts and vacancies
- DGM (Paint Shop) — 1 post
- Qualification/experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering; 15–20 years of relevant experience preferably in shipbuilding, ship repair, heavy engineering, marine, fabrication, painting or a related industrial environment. Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, planning and team management skills required. Age: up to 55 years.
- Manager (Contract Management) — 1 post
- Qualification/experience: BE / B.Tech / DAE in Mechanical, Industrial & Management, Automotive or Mechatronics. Additional MBA/BBA (Supply Chain / Marketing) preferred. Minimum experience: 8 years for BE, 10 years for B.Tech and 15–20 years for DAE candidates in PPRA rules and standard bidding documents with practical expertise in contract administration, performance monitoring, payments and contract closure. PPRA procurement or contract management training and credentials such as CIPS or PMP preferred. Age: up to 55 years.
- DM (Engineering Design) — 1 post
- Qualification/experience: BE / B.Tech / DAE in Mechanical or Electrical (or equivalent). Minimum experience: 5 years for BE and 8–10 years for B.Tech/DAE in mechanical design, engineering drawing and drafting of heavy mechanical and industrial equipment such as barrage gates, pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, and related process equipment; fabrication, assembly, installation and general arrangement drawings for industrial equipment and heavy steel structures. Practical knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER (Pro/E) and ANSYS preferred. Age: up to 45 years.
- Supervisor (Ship Planning) — 2 posts
- Qualification/experience: B.Tech / DAE in Mechanical or Electrical or equivalent. Minimum 5–10 years of supervisory experience within a shipyard or marine environment. Project management skills and proficiency in MS Office preferred. Age: up to 45 years.
Eligibility
Candidates must meet the education and experience specifications listed for each post. Educational certificates, diplomas or degrees must be duly verified by the concerned Board / HEC. Applicants must submit CNIC and domicile. Relaxation in age limit may be given to outstanding candidates. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for test or interview. No TA/DA is admissible for appearing in the test or interview.
