About the role

The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) is a statutory corporation established under Ordinance XX of 1979. As the National Flag Carrier, the PNSC Group of companies undertakes global shipping operations. PNSC is seeking a high-calibre, result-oriented professional for the position of Head of Internal Audit.

The appointment will be on contract, initially for three years, and may be extended with mutual consent. The selected candidate will be offered a market-based remuneration package that matches their qualifications and experience.

Eligibility

• Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) or the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP), or ACCA or CPA.

• At least 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience in auditing and risk management, designing internal control procedures and ensuring effective compliance with financial reliability in the public or private sector.

• An understanding of governance, risk and risk control, especially in state-owned enterprises (SOEs) or listed companies.

• The candidate must meet the "Fit and Proper Criteria" under Schedule IV of the SOEs Act.

• Age limit: up to 50 years.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in:

• The shipping industry, an SOE or a listed company as Chief Internal Auditor or Head of Internal Audit.

• An ERP environment, ensuring effective internal controls and risk management.

The appointment will follow the criteria set out in the following:

• The State Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act 2023.

• The State Owned Enterprises (Ownership and Management) Policy 2023.

• The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation Ordinance, 1979, as amended.

• The PNSC Service Regulations 2025.

• The CMU Guidelines for C-Level appointments.
