About the role
The University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila invites applications from qualified individuals domiciled in Punjab for Research Assistant positions under two Higher Education Commission-funded projects.
The first project, No. 87309, is titled “DeepGuard: Deepfake Audio Exploitation Prevention and Guarding Against Real-Time Deception.” The second project, NRPU-20-143413-36, is titled “Revolutionizing Construction Industry Using AI-Driven Aerial Monitoring System.”

- Research Assistant — DeepGuard project: Two positions for nine months. The monthly pay package is Rs. 100,000. The age limit is up to 40 years.
- Research Assistant — AI-driven aerial monitoring project: One position for ten months, extendable. The monthly pay package is Rs. 100,000. The age limit is up to 45 years.
Eligibility
DeepGuard project: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, or Computer Science, from a recognized institution. They must have expertise in machine learning, deep learning and transformer-based architectures, together with knowledge of audio and video signal processing. Strong Python programming skills and hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow and other modern machine-learning frameworks are required. Previous student research experience and demonstrated research capability are advantageous but not mandatory.
AI-driven aerial monitoring project: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a similar discipline, comprising 16 years of education, from an HEC-recognized university. A strong academic profile and research capability supported by published or submitted conference or journal publications are required. Previous experience as a student researcher is advantageous but not mandatory.
Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on expertise in machine learning and deep-learning algorithm development, computer vision and 3D vision, Python, C++, MATLAB, OpenCV, Open3D and deep learning for 3D vision, including PointNet, PointNet++, KPConv, SparseConv and transformer-based models. Additional preference applies to experience with CUDA basics and GPU training, image segmentation or object detection using YOLO or Mask R-CNN, multimodal RGB and thermal data, and good technical writing and communication skills.
Applicants for both projects must be domiciled in Punjab.
