About the role
Power Planning & Monitoring Company (PPMC) provides policy and technical support to the Ministry of Energy (Power Division). It handles integrated planning for Pakistan's power sector and develops and implements strategic plans for the sector. It also administers, monitors and evaluates the performance of power sector entities under approved policies and plans.
The company invites applications for the position of Senior Team Lead in its R&D Secretariat. The first three months will be on probation. After that, employment will continue in line with company policy.
Candidates must have strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, drafting, analytical, problem-solving and IT skills. They must be able to prioritise tasks, work well under pressure, and make sound judgements based on accurate and timely analysis.

Eligibility
- Education: A bachelor's degree is required and a master's degree is preferred. The degree should be in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from a PEC-accredited institution, or in any other relevant subject from a recognised university.
- Experience: At least 8 years of post-qualification professional experience in one or more of these areas:
- the power sector or power planning
- hydropower or renewable energy
- power-system studies
- R&D or innovation
- project development or project management
- donor-funded programmes
- Knowledge of Pakistan's power sector: Strong knowledge of generation, transmission and distribution, sector planning and the regulatory framework. This includes the energy transition, renewables, energy storage and institutional reform.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, drafting, communication, presentation, coordination, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Advantage: Knowledge of the following will be an advantage:
- donor-funded programmes
- public-sector procedures and procurement processes
- project monitoring and applied research
- emerging technologies
- international best practices in the energy sector
- Age limit: A maximum of 50 years on the closing date. No age relaxation will be allowed.
