About the role

Karachi Garrison Education System (KGES) is recruiting teaching and support staff for Army Public School & College (APS&C), covering Saddar, Faisal and APSIS (Cambridge Stream). Teaching vacancies are available in the Matric and Cambridge streams. KGES is an equal opportunity employer.

Posts and vacancies

Teaching opportunities are open to male and female candidates in the following categories:

• Early Years and Home Teachers: Starting salary of Rs. 40,000 or above.

• Junior and Middle School Teachers: English, Mathematics, Science, Urdu, History and Islamiyat. Starting salary of Rs. 45,000 or above.

• SSC Teachers, Federal Board: Starting salary of Rs. 60,000 or above.

• HSSC Teachers, Karachi and Federal Boards: Starting salary of Rs. 70,000 or above. The SSC/HSSC subject list includes Physics, Urdu, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geography, History, Pakistan Studies and Biology.

• Cambridge/CIE Teachers: Arts, Economics, Business Studies, Accounting, Biology, Urdu, Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, Sociology, Environmental Management, Global Perspective, Pakistan Studies and Geography. Starting salaries are Rs. 75,000 or above for O Level and Rs. 90,000 or above for A Level.

Support staff vacancies are Science Lab Attendant, Librarian, PTI (Sports Teacher), IT Lab Assistants, Computer Operators/Administrative Clerks and Assistant Accountant. Librarian and PTI vacancies are open to both male and female candidates.

Eligibility

• Early Years and Home Teachers: Preschool applicants must have an MA in Early Childhood Education or a one-year Montessori diploma. The qualification criteria also include graduation with early years child education.

• Junior School Teachers: At least 16 years of education in the relevant subject, with experience.

• Middle School, SSC and HSSC Teachers: At least a master's degree in the relevant subject, with a minimum second division in all educational qualifications attained.

• Teachers: At least three years of teaching experience and an age of no more than 50 years. English proficiency and computer literacy are mandatory for all teaching jobs. CIE-trained teachers are preferred for Cambridge positions.

• Science Lab Attendant: F.Sc with at least a second division, preferably with a laboratory technician certificate or diploma, and at least two years of experience as a Science Lab Attendant.

• Librarian: MLIS or BLIS with at least a second division and at least two years of experience as a librarian in a reputable institution.

• PTI (Sports Teacher): MA or M.Sc in Physical Education, or a retired qualified PTI from the Armed Forces, with at least three years of PTI experience in a reputed institution.

• IT Lab Assistants: F.Sc in Computer Science with a diploma in IT and at least three years of experience providing technical support in the school sector. Previous campus management software experience is preferred.

• Computer Operators/Administrative Clerks: F.Sc in Computer Science with a diploma in IT and at least three years of clerical experience in a reputable school, college or educational institution.

• Assistant Accountant: B.Com, M.Com or ACCA with at least three semesters passed. School accounts handling experience is preferred. Applicants must be no older than 45 years.
