About the role
Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC) is inviting applicants for positions in a newly established R&D lab and collaboration center located in Islamabad. Vacancies are for senior and experienced engineering, design, and process roles. Successful candidates will lead design, development, automation, instrumentation, process engineering, and related project execution activities, coordinate with engineering teams, contractors and vendors, and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards.
Posts and vacancies
- Senior Manager, Automation and Control (1)
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Experience: Minimum 9 years of relevant experience.
- Key responsibilities: Lead automation, instrumentation and control activities for industrial plants and projects; design, program and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, VFDs and control systems; manage instrumentation selection, installation, calibration, testing and commissioning; coordinate with teams, clients, contractors and vendors.
- Education: DAE (Mechanical) or BSc Technology from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Key responsibilities: Develop and review 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models; ensure designs meet GD&T, dimensional, material and tolerance standards; maintain CAD data, BOMs and documentation; support manufacturing, assembly, testing and mentor junior designers.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (Chemical Engineering background preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
- Key responsibilities: Lead plant process design and engineering including process development, optimization, equipment selection and sizing; develop and review H&MB, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets and design specifications; ensure compliance with ASME, API, ISO, NFPA and relevant safety standards; coordinate through procurement, commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Mechanical Design Engineer (1)
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- Key responsibilities: Develop mechanical designs and 3D CAD models for equipment and assemblies; apply GD&T, tolerances, material selection and manufacturability requirements; prepare and maintain BOMs and engineering drawings; coordinate to support fabrication, testing and commissioning. PEC registration preferred.
- Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (1)
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
- Key responsibilities: Lead mechanical design for heavy equipment and machinery; review and approve designs, calculations and specifications; ensure compliance with ASME, API, ASTM and ISO standards; lead mechanical team and ensure quality of deliverables. PEC-registered Mechanical Engineer preferred.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold the educational qualifications and experience specified for each post above. Preferences stated in the advertisement include engineering background for automation roles, Chemical Engineering background for the Process Engineer role, and PEC registration preferred for mechanical engineering positions. All qualifications should be from a recognized university or institution as noted.
