Head of Internal Audit

About the role

Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC), a statutory corporation established under Ordinance XX of 1979, is seeking a high-calibre, result-oriented professional for the position of Head of Internal Audit. As the National Flag Carrier, the PNSC Group of companies undertakes global shipping operations.

The appointment will be on contract, initially for three years, and may be extended by mutual consent. The selected candidate will be offered a market-based remuneration package in line with qualifications and experience.

The appointment will follow the criteria set out in:

• The State Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act 2023

• The State Owned Enterprises (Ownership and Management) Policy 2023

• The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation Ordinance, 1979 (as amended to date)

• PNSC Service Regulations 2026

• CMD Guidelines for C-Level appointments

Eligibility

Qualification

Candidates must be a Fellow member of one of the following:

• The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP)

• The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP)

• ACCA

• CPA

Experience

Candidates need at least 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the following areas:

• Auditing and risk management

• Designing internal control procedures

• Ensuring effective compliance and financial reliability in the public or private sector

They must also understand governance, risk and risk control, especially in state-owned enterprises (SOEs) or listed companies.

Age limit

Up to 50 years.

Fit and Proper Criteria

The candidate must meet the Fit and Proper Criteria under Schedule IV of the SOEs Act.

Preference

Preference may be given to candidates who have:

• Worked as Chief Internal Auditor or Head of Internal Audit in the shipping industry, an SOE or a listed company

• Worked in an ERP environment to ensure effective internal controls and risk management
