About the role

Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited is seeking suitable candidates for four positions on a contract basis in Karachi. The vacancies cover planning and design, welding supervision, electrical work and plasma machine operation.

Eligibility

Deputy General Manager (Planning & Design)

Candidates must hold a BE or ME in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution and have 15–20 years of relevant experience in material planning, procurement, specifications, sourcing and stakeholder coordination. Sound knowledge of ASME, ASTM and API codes and standards, project management, engineering design, business planning and contracting concepts is required. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project for project planning, scheduling, monitoring and progress tracking is preferred. The age limit is 55 years.

Supervisor (Welding)

Candidates must hold a B.Tech or DAE in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy from a recognized institution and have 5–10 years of experience in steel fabrication and structural steel projects. Knowledge of welding codes, standards, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, quality control and welding inspection procedures is required. Candidates with CSWIP 3.1 and Visual Testing Level II certifications and excellent communication skills will be preferred. The age limit is 45 years.

Electrician

Candidates must have Matric or a DAE in Electrical and 2–3 years of relevant experience. Candidates holding a wireman license will be preferred. The age limit is 35 years.

Plasma Machine Operator

Candidates must have Matric or Intermediate, preferably a DAE in Mechanical, and 2–3 years of relevant experience in the heavy fabrication industry. A relevant trade certification is preferred. The age limit is 45 years.

Age-limit relaxation will be available for outstanding candidates.
