Appointments are on a contract basis, subject to a maximum age limit of 66 years and notifications issued by the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, Government of Punjab, from time to time. Only candidates holding Punjab domicile may apply.

Eligibility
All applicants must hold an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized or registered by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC). Applicants must also have at least a Level IIa diploma or a six-month certificate in Medical Education from a recognized university, in accordance with PM&DC criteria.
Professor: Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine and Pathology
Candidates must have a PM&DC-recognized Level III qualification in the respective subject. The experience requirement is at least three years as an Associate Professor in the respective subject, or nine years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in that subject, recognized by PM&DC.
Candidates must have 15 research publications in the relevant subject, including six during the last three years. Six relevant research publications as an Associate Professor are required.
Professor: Psychiatry
Candidates must have a PM&DC-recognized postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry, such as FCPS, MS or MD, or an equivalent specialty qualification approved by SRC and recognized or registered by PM&DC.
Three years of teaching experience as an Associate Professor in the respective subject is required, provided the combined experience as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor is at least eight years. Alternatively, candidates may have nine years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in the respective subject.
Candidates must have 15 research publications in the relevant subject, including six during the last three years. Five relevant research publications as an Associate Professor are required.
Associate Professor: Biochemistry and Forensic Medicine
Candidates must have a PM&DC-recognized Level IIb or Level III qualification in the respective basic subject, or an equivalent Level IIb or Level III qualification in the respective specialty recognized or registered by PM&DC.
Five years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in the respective subject is required. Candidates must have nine research publications in the respective subject in a PM&DC-recognized journal, including seven as an Assistant Professor.
Associate Professor: Psychiatry
Candidates must have a PM&DC Level II qualification in Psychiatry, such as FCPS, MS or MD, or another equivalent Level II specialty qualification approved by SRC and recognized or registered by PM&DC.
Five years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in the relevant subject is required. Candidates must have nine research publications in the relevant subject, including seven as an Assistant Professor.
How to apply
1. Complete the online application through the university job portal at http://portals.uhs.edu.pk/jobs Check the form carefully before submission, as editing will not be allowed afterward.
2. Generate the application fee challan through the system. The processing fee for BPS-17 and above is Rs. 2,000. Deposit it through 1Link Invoice, not 1Link Top Up, or at any branch of the Bank of Punjab.
3. Submit a signed hard copy of the completed online application, together with attested copies of your CNIC, Punjab domicile, all educational documents and certificates, experience certificates, any other relevant documents, and the deposited system-generated fee challan.
4. Deliver the application in person or by courier to Room No. 12, HR Department, University of Health Sciences, Khayaban-e-Jamia Punjab, Lahore, by the closing date.
Applications without the deposited system-generated fee challan will not be entertained. The deposited fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Incomplete applications and applications received after the due date will not be accepted.
Important dates
The closing date for online applications is 13 November 2026, within office hours. The signed application form and all supporting documents must also be submitted by the closing date.
