About the role
State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan is seeking to hire a Shariah Advisor for its Window Takaful Operations, "Tayyab Takaful", in accordance with SECP's Shariah Advisors Regulations, 2017 and Takaful Rules, 2012. Hiring will be on a contract basis initially for a period of three (03) years, extendable on mutual consent. Appointment will be subject to clearance from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

Eligibility
Qualification options (candidate must meet one of the following):
- Shahadat-ul-Aalamiyyah Degree (Dars-e-Nizami) from a recognized Board of Madaris with minimum seventy percent (70%) marks and a Bachelor's degree recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan with minimum 2nd Class; or
- Post-Graduate Degree in Kuliyyatush Shariah or Kuliyyah Usooluddin; or L.L.M (Shariah); or MS Shariah or equivalent with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or equivalent from an institution recognized by HEC.
Experience requirements (one of the following or an acceptable combination):
- At least four (4) years' experience of giving Shariah rulings in fiqh, preferably fiqh-ul-muamalat, including the period of Takhasus-fil-Ifta; or
- At least five (5) years' experience in teaching, research, or training in Islamic financial services; or
- At least five (5) years' experience in relevant departments of an institution offering Islamic financial services; or
- At least five (5) years' experience in relevant departments of banking, securities, or insurance/Takaful regulator.
A combination of eligible work experience is acceptable (for example, two years teaching plus three years relevant institutional experience). Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience as a Shariah Advisor for a Pension Fund Manager, Dedicated Family Takaful, or Window Takaful Operations. Candidates must have integrity and soundness of conduct and must not have been associated with illegal activity related to insurance, Takaful, fund management or banking, nor be in default of payments to financial institutions or taxes.
