Staff Vacancies at Rescue 1122 (Emergency Services Department)

About the role

Rescue 1122 (Emergency Services Department, Government of the Punjab) invites applications for various temporary positions at Headquarters, the Emergency Services Academy and District Lahore. Appointments are on a temporary basis, non-transferable and do not confer right to regularization. Candidates will undergo written and psychological tests, physical and skill tests, medical examination and final interview. Final interviews will be held at Emergency Services Headquarters, Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore. Shortlists and further communication will be published on the CTS and ESD websites.

Posts and vacancies

• Emergency Officer (Medical) — 5 posts — PPS-07

- Qualification: MBBS with valid registration from PMDC or PMC. Age 24–32 years.

• Hostel Warden (Female) — 1 post — PPS-05

- Qualification: Bachelor's degree / 14 years education (BS/B.Sc) in Social Sciences, Psychology or Management from an HEC recognized university. Minimum 2 years relevant experience in hostel administration or public sector management. Age 24–35 years.

• Assistant Hostel Warden (Female) — 1 post — PPS-03

- Qualification: Bachelor's degree / 14 years education (BS/B.Sc) in Social Sciences, Psychology or Management from an HEC recognized university. Relevant experience preferred. Age 22–30 years.

• Attendant (Female) — 4 posts — PPS-02

- Qualification: Matriculation with housekeeping certificate. Relevant experience preferred. Age 22–35 years.

• Fire DERT Rescuer (FOR) — 28 posts — PPS-03

- Qualification: Diploma of Associate Engineering (Chemical, Electronics, Mining, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Telecommunication or Architecture) (2nd division) from a recognized institution. Age 20–30 years.

• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) — 92 posts — PPS-03

- Qualification: Nursing or Paramedical degree or diploma (2nd division) from a recognized board, council or university. Age 20–30 years.

• Rescue Driver (LTV) — 108 posts — PPS-02

- Qualification: Secondary School Certificate (2nd division) from a recognized board and valid LTV license. Age 20–30 years.

Eligibility

Eligibility varies by post as listed above. General conditions and requirements include:

• Age limits are specified per post.

• No relaxation in age or qualification except: employees of the Emergency Services Department will be given 5 years age relaxation in the upper age limit only for administrative posts.

• 5% quota for minorities and 15% quota for females; local residents as per CNIC will be given preference. Transgender applicants are permitted to apply.

• Physical and medical standards: candidates must meet eyesight and physical fitness requirements. Candidates must have vision 6/6 in each eye (without glasses), not be color blind, and meet acceptable BMI standards; laboratory tests for Hepatitis B & C, HIV and RPR will be required. Height preference and minimum chest size may apply for certain posts (preference indicated for candidates above 5'6"; minimum chest size 33").

• Police verification, successful completion of training and clearance by the medical board constituted by the Government of the Punjab are required before appointment.

• Only completely filled applications fulfilling the advertised criteria will be accepted. In case of a large number of applicants, only applications meeting preferred/enhanced criteria may be considered.

• Candidates must apply for only one suitable post; however, a candidate may be adjusted against another suitable post on recommendation of the Recruitment Committee.

• Candidature, selection or appointment may be cancelled at any stage if any information is found false, missing or forged.
