Academic and Administrative Positions (Contract) at University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore

About the role

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore invites applications from eligible candidates having domicile of Punjab for several academic and administrative posts on contract basis. UHS is a public sector organization offering a congenial working environment and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Appointments will be made on contract as per UHS Service Statutes 2005. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in reputable public sector medical universities or institutions.

Posts and vacancies

1. Professor (Medical Education) — Vacancies: 1 — Scale: BPS-20 — Age limit: up to 55 years - Basic qualification: MBBS or equivalent medical/dental qualification recognized/registered by PM&DC. - Postgraduate qualification: Level II b or Level II postgraduate degree or diploma in Medical Education, Health Professions Education or related field recognized by PM&DC. - Experience: At least 3 years as Associate Professor in the respective subject OR 9 years teaching experience as Assistant Professor in the respective subject. - Research publications: Six research publications as Associate Professor required in relevant subject. Remarks state a total of fifteen research publications in relevant subject, of which six should be during the last three years. Level-II b holders shall be eligible to become Professor.

2. Director Quality Enhancement / Institutional Quality Assessment and Effectiveness (IQAE) — Vacancies: 1 — Scale: BPS-20 — Age limit: up to 55 years
- Qualification: MS/MPhil or equivalent (18 years) in Health/Medical Education/Life Sciences/Management Sciences recognized by HEC with 12 years' experience in administration/management in an HEC recognized public sector university/degree awarding institute or public sector organization in BPS-17 or equivalent and above.
- OR Masters or equivalent (18 years) in the above fields with 15 years' experience in administration/management in an HEC recognized public sector university/degree awarding institute or public sector organization in BPS-17 or equivalent and above.

3. Deputy Registrar — Vacancies: 1 — Scale: BPS-18 — Age limit: up to 55 years
- Qualification: M.A./M.Sc./MPA/MBA from HEC recognized university with 5 years administrative experience OR MBBS with 5 years teaching/administrative experience.

4. Deputy Controller of Examinations — Vacancies: 1 — Scale: BPS-18 — Age limit: up to 55 years
- Qualification: M.A./M.Sc./MPA/MBA from HEC recognized university with 5 years administrative experience OR MBBS with 5 years teaching/administrative experience.

5. Network Administrator — Vacancies: 1 — Scale: BPS-17 — Age limit: up to 55 years
- Qualification: MS in Computer Sciences or BE in Engineering from HEC recognized university with 2–3 years' experience of network administration and management.

6. Database Administrator — Vacancies: 1 — Scale: BPS-17 — Age limit: up to 55 years
- Qualification: MS in Computer Sciences, BCS or BE in Engineering from HEC recognized university with 2–3 years' experience of database administration.
- Additional skills: Good oral and written communication and presentation skills; in-depth knowledge of current database platforms, development tools, middleware, operating systems; familiarity with multi-tier vs client/server models and various database technologies.

Eligibility

• Only candidates domiciled in Punjab are eligible to apply.

• Upper age limit for the advertised posts is up to 55 years; relaxation in upper age limit may be granted as per statutes/rules of Government of Punjab.

• Experience, where prescribed, includes equivalent experience in a profession, or service of an autonomous/semi-autonomous body or a well reputed private organization. Only post-qualification experience will be considered.

• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in reputable public sector medical universities or institutions.

• Selected candidates can be posted at any campus of the University (City & Jinnah Campus).

• Applicants working in public sector organizations/departments must apply through proper channel.

• The University reserves the right to increase, decrease or withdraw vacancies, and to conduct tests or screening for shortlisting candidates.

• No TA/DA is admissible for test/interview.

• Applicants must also submit a signed hard copy/printout of the same pre-filled online application form to the Office of Human Resource Department, Room #12, University of Health Sciences, Khayaban-e-Jamia Punjab, Lahore-54600.

• After completing the online form, applicants must print the system-generated fee challan and deposit the job application processing fee through 1Link or at any branch of Bank of Punjab.

• Documents to attach with the printed application form: attested copies of CNIC, domicile, all educational documents/certificates, experience certificates and the deposited system-generated fee challan.

• Application processing fee (for BPS-17 & above): Rs. 2,000/-. Applications submitted without the deposited system-generated fee challan will not be entertained. Deposited amount is non-refundable and non-transferable.

• Printed online application form along with all attached documents must be submitted in person or via courier to the Office of Human Resource Department, Room #12, UHS Lahore, within office hours by the closing date.
