About the role

Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) is a public-sector electric utility serving more than 5.1 million consumers. It is recruiting Assistant Managers to meet its operational requirements for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). Recruitment will be conducted through National Testing Service (NTS) on an open-merit basis, with candidates from across Pakistan eligible to apply.

Appointments will be on contract with a lump-sum pay package, initially for three years. Contracts may be extended subject to satisfactory performance, but these appointments will not be regularized at any stage. Selected candidates will perform duties within GEPCO's jurisdiction.

Posts and vacancies

GEPCO may increase or decrease the number of posts according to its requirements.

Eligibility

All three posts require a four-year bachelor's degree or a master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Software Engineering, recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), together with at least two years of experience in the relevant field.

The age limit is 21–33 years, including five years of general age relaxation. No further relaxation is allowed except an additional three years for candidates belonging to scheduled castes and Buddhists. Government servants and WAPDA or DISCO employees who have completed two years of continuous service by the application closing date may apply up to the age of 43 years.

Candidates whose result cards or transcripts use CGPA evaluation must obtain documents showing marks as a percentage from their HEC-recognized institutions or universities before applying. Computer knowledge, including MS Office, Excel, Windows, internet and email, will be an additional advantage.

Applicants must have completed the required qualifications and must have been issued their final transcript, degree, domicile and other certificates by the closing date. Candidates awaiting results are ineligible.

Dismissed or screened-out employees of any organization and candidates with a criminal record are ineligible. Character and antecedent clearance by the relevant agencies or police is mandatory. Concealment or misrepresentation of facts will result in disqualification from this recruitment and future GEPCO recruitment tests or examinations.

How to apply

Apply directly through the NTS website at www.nts.org.pk and submit a duly completed application form with the required test fee. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application form for each post. Complete application forms must be submitted directly to NTS. Applications delivered by hand will not be accepted at GEPCO or NTS, and applications will not be entertained at GEPCO headquarters.

The total test fee is Rs. 540. Candidates must pay Rs. 270, with GEPCO paying the remaining Rs. 270 directly to NTS. Disabled candidates are exempt from the test fee; GEPCO will pay their full fee. Payment may be made through 1Link, 1Bill participating banks, ATM, internet banking, mobile banking, Easypaisa, Jazz Cash or TCS Express Counters.

Government employees must apply through the proper channel. At interview, they must provide a departmental No Objection Certificate stating their appointment date and whether their employment is regular, contractual or another type. All interview candidates must present original documents and one set of attested photocopies.

Only qualified and eligible candidates will be admitted to the written test. Only shortlisted candidates within merit under the applicable recruitment policy will be invited for interview. No travel or daily allowance will be paid for the test or interview. Mobile phones are prohibited within test-centre premises.

Incomplete applications, incorrect applications and applications received after the deadline will not be accepted. Courier delays do not bind GEPCO or NTS. GEPCO may withhold or cancel the entire recruitment process or any post at any stage without giving a reason. Litigation concerning NTS recruitment tests will be handled by NTS.

Important dates

The application deadline is 23 October 2026. The online application portal will close at 11:59:59 p.m. that day.

Roll-number slips containing the test centre, timing and date will be uploaded to the NTS website at least one week before the test. Candidates will also be notified through the email address and mobile number supplied in their applications.
