Contract Vacancies at University of Health Sciences Lahore

About the role

The University of Health Sciences Lahore (UHS) invites applications from eligible candidates domiciled in Punjab for several academic and administrative positions on a contract basis. Appointments will be made under UHS Service Statutes 2005. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in reputable public sector medical universities. The University may conduct tests or screenings for shortlisting and reserves the right to increase, decrease or withdraw vacancies.

Posts and vacancies

1. Professor (Medical Education) — Vacancies: 1, Scale: BPS-20, Age limit: up to 55 years
- Basic qualification: MBBS or equivalent medical/dental qualification recognized/registered by the PM&DC.
- Postgraduate qualification: Level II b or Level III postgraduate degree or diploma in Medical Education/Health Professions Education or related field recognized by PM&DC.
- Experience: At least three (3) years as Associate Professor in the respective subject OR nine (9) years teaching experience as Assistant Professor in the respective subject.
- Research: Six (6) research publications as Associate Professor required; total of fifteen (15) research publications in the relevant subject of which six (6) should be in the last three years.

2. Director, Quality Enhancement Cell — Vacancies: 1, Scale: null, Age limit: up to 55 years
- Qualification: MS/MPhil or equivalent (18 years education) in Health/Medical Education/Life Sciences/Management Sciences recognized by HEC.
- Experience: Twelve (12) years' experience in administration/management in an HEC recognized public sector university/degree-awarding institute or a public sector organization in BPS-17 or equivalent and above.

3. Director, Quality Assessment & Institutional Effectiveness (IQAE) — Vacancies: 1, Scale: BPS-20, Age limit: up to 55 years
- Qualification: Masters or equivalent (16 years education) in Health/Medical Education/Life Sciences/Management Sciences recognized by HEC.
- Experience: Fifteen (15) years' experience in administration/management in an HEC recognized public sector university/degree-awarding institute or a public sector organization in BPS-17 or equivalent and above.

4. Deputy Registrar — Vacancies: 1, Scale: BPS-18, Age limit: up to 55 years
- Qualification: M.A./M.Sc./MPA/MBA from HEC recognized university with 5 years administrative experience OR MBBS with 5 years teaching/administrative experience.

5. Controller of Examinations — Vacancies: 1, Scale: BPS-18, Age limit: up to 55 years
- Qualification: M.A./M.Sc./MPA/MBA from HEC recognized university with 5 years administrative experience OR MBBS with 6 years teaching/administrative experience.

6. Network Administrator — Vacancies: 1, Scale: BPS-17, Age limit: up to 55 years
- Qualification: MS in Computer Sciences or BE in Engineering from HEC recognized university with 2–3 years' experience of network administration and management.

7. Database Administrator — Vacancies: 1, Scale: BPS-17, Age limit: up to 55 years
- Qualification: MS in Computer Sciences / BCS / BE in Engineering from HEC recognized university with 2–3 years' experience of database administration.
- Skills: Good oral and written communication and presentation skills; in-depth knowledge of current database development tools, middleware, hardware platforms and operating systems; familiar with multi-tier vs client/server models and database technologies (transactional, relational, object oriented & distributed databases).

Eligibility

• Only candidates with domicile of Punjab are eligible to apply.

• Age limits are generally up to 55 years as stated for the posts; relaxation in upper age limit may be granted as per statutes/rules of Government of Punjab.

• Only post-qualification experience shall be considered for eligibility. Experience may include equivalent experience in an autonomous/semi-autonomous body or reputed private organization where prescribed.

• Appointments are on a contract basis as per UHS Service Statutes 2005. Selected candidates may be posted at any campus of the University (City & Jinnah Campus).

• Applicants working in public sector organizations/departments must apply through proper channel. No TA/DA shall be admissible.

1. Applicants are required to apply online through the university job portal (http://portals.whs.edu ok/jobs). Fill the online application form carefully as no editing will be allowed after submission.
2. Applicants must print the system-generated fee challan and deposit the job application processing fee through 1Link or in any branch of Bank of Punjab as indicated on the challan.
3. Applicants must attach and submit attested copies of CNIC, domicile, all educational documents/certificates, experience certificates and the deposited system-generated fee challan.
- Fee: For BPS-17 & above = Rs. 2000/-. Deposited amount is non-refundable/non-transferable.
- Applications submitted without deposited system-generated fee challan will not be entertained.
4. After applying online, applicants must submit a signed hard copy/printout of the pre-filed online application form along with all attached documents to the Office of Human Resource Department, Room #12, University of Health Sciences, Khayaban-e-Jamia Punjab, Lahore. Printed online application form and attachments must be submitted in person or via courier.
