About the role

Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Institute of Trauma (SMBBIT), Karachi, invites applications for medical, administrative, procurement and technical positions. Appointments will be on a two-year contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. Selected candidates will receive salaries under the Trauma Pay Scale. These appointments will not provide a basis for regularization.

Eligibility

• Consultant Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery: FCPS in Orthopaedic Surgery, valid Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) registration and five years of post-qualification experience in Orthopaedic Surgery at a tertiary care hospital. Candidates must be recognized CPSP supervisors. An additional fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery will be preferred. Age limit: 50 years.

• Fellow Orthopaedic Surgery: FCPS in Orthopaedic Surgery and valid PMDC registration. Age limit: 40 years.

• Fellow Plastic Surgery: FCPS in Plastic Surgery and valid PMDC registration. Age limit: 45 years.

• Resident Medical Officer (Plastic Surgery): MBBS, house job, completed FCPS training in Plastic Surgery and valid PMDC registration. Age limit: 45 years.

• Resident Medical Officer (Radiology): MBBS with FCPS, MCPS, DMRD or MD training in Radiology, and valid PMDC registration. Age limit: 45 years.

• Resident Medical Officer (Thoracic Surgery): MBBS, house job, FCPS training in General Surgery and valid PMDC registration. Thoracic Surgery experience in a reputable hospital will be preferred. Age limit: 45 years.

• Senior Medical Officer (Vascular Surgery): MBBS, house job, completed FCPS training in General Surgery and valid PMDC registration. Vascular Surgery experience will be preferred. Age limit: 40 years.

• Medical Officer (Thoracic Surgery): MBBS with house job and either one year of General Surgery experience or three months of Thoracic Surgery house job experience. Valid PMDC registration is required. Age limit: 35 years.

• Medical Officer (Vascular Surgery): MBBS with house job and one year of General Surgery experience, with preference for Vascular Surgery experience; alternatively, MBBS with house job and three months of Vascular Surgery house job experience. Valid PMDC registration is required. Age limit: 35 years.

• Assistant Manager Human Resources: MBA in HR with three years of similar experience in a tertiary care hospital. Human Resources Professional Certification is required. Age limit: 35 years.

• Assistant Manager Planning & Procurement: MBA in Supply Chain with three years of Planning and Procurement experience in a tertiary care hospital, or a bachelor's degree with five years of Planning and Procurement experience in a tertiary care hospital. SPPRA training or another procurement diploma or certification will be preferred. Age limit: 35 years.

• Senior Procurement Officer: MBA in Supply Chain with two years of Planning and Procurement experience in a tertiary care hospital, or a bachelor's degree with four years of procurement experience in a tertiary care hospital. SPPRA training or another procurement diploma or certification will be preferred. Age limit: 35 years.

• Procurement Officer: Bachelor's degree with three years of procurement experience in a tertiary care hospital. SPPRA training or another procurement diploma or certification will be preferred. Age limit: 35 years.

• Procurement Assistant: Bachelor's degree with two years of procurement experience in a tertiary care hospital, or Intermediate with five years of procurement experience in a tertiary care hospital. SPPRA training or another procurement diploma or certification will be preferred. Age limit: 35 years.

• Store Officer: Bachelor's degree with three years of experience managing a store in a tertiary care hospital. Age limit: 35 years.

• Pharmacist: Pharm-D with two years of similar experience in a reputable hospital and valid Pharmacy Council registration. Age limit: 35 years.

• Assistant Librarian: Bachelor's degree in Library Sciences with two years of library work experience. Age limit: 35 years.

• Anesthesia Technician: Diploma in Anesthesia Technician from Sindh Medical Faculty and two years of work experience in a reputable hospital. Age limit: 35 years.

• CSSD Technician: Diploma of CSSD Technician from Sindh Medical Faculty. Experienced candidates will be preferred. Age limit: 35 years.

Only post-qualification experience will count toward the experience requirement. Candidates currently in government service are ineligible to apply.
