About the role
The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore invites applications for a range of senior academic, administrative and IT positions on contract basis. UHS is an equal opportunity public sector university offering a professional working environment. Selected candidates will be appointed on contract under UHS Service Statutes 2005 and may be posted to any campus of the University.
Posts and vacancies
- Professor (Medical Education) — 1 post, BPS-20
- Basic qualification: MBBS or equivalent medical/dental qualification recognized/registered by PM&DC.
- Postgraduate: Level II b or Level III postgraduate degree or diploma in Medical Education / Health Professions Education or related field recognized by PM&DC.
- Experience: At least three (3) years as Associate Professor in the respective subject, OR nine (9) years teaching experience as Assistant Professor in the respective subject.
- Research publications: Six (6) research publications as Associate Professor are required in the relevant subject. Remarks state a total of fifteen (15) research publications in the relevant subject, of which five (5) should be during the last three years. Level-II b holders shall be eligible to become Professor.
- Director Quality Enhancement / Institutional Assessment & Effectiveness (ICAE) — 1 post, BPS-20
- Qualification options as advertised:
- MS/MPhil or equivalent (18 years) in Health / Medical Education / Life Sciences / Management Sciences recognized by HEC with 17 years' experience in administration/management in an HEC recognized public sector university/degree awarding institute or public sector organization in BPS-17 or equivalent and above; OR
- Masters or equivalent (15 years) in Health / Medical Education / Life Sciences / Management Sciences recognized by HEC with 15 years' experience in administration/management in an HEC recognized public sector university/degree awarding institute or public sector organization in BPS-17 or equivalent and above.
- Deputy Registrar — 1 post, BPS-18
- Qualification: M.A. / M.Sc. / MPA / MBA from an HEC recognized university with 5 years administrative experience OR MBBS with 5 years teaching/administrative experience.
- Deputy Controller of Examinations — 1 post, BPS-18
- Qualification: M.A. / M.Sc. / MPA / MBA from an HEC recognized university with 5 years administrative experience OR MBBS with 5 years teaching/administrative experience.
- Network Administrator — 1 post, BPS-17
- Qualification: MS in Computer Sciences / BE in Engineering from an HEC recognized university with 2–3 years' experience in network administration and management.
- Database Administrator — 1 post, BPS-17
- Qualification: MS in Computer Sciences / BCS / BE in Engineering from an HEC recognized university with 2–3 years' experience in database administration.
- Skills: Good oral and written communication and presentation skills; knowledge of current database development tools, middleware, hardware platforms, operating systems; familiarity with multi-tier vs client/server models and transactional, relational, object-oriented and distributed database technologies.
Eligibility
- Only candidates domiciled in Punjab may apply.
- Age limit for all advertised positions is up to 55 years as stated.
- Where experience is prescribed, only post-qualification experience will be considered.
- Experience may include equivalent experience in a profession or service of an autonomous body, semi-autonomous organization, or a well reputed private organization.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a reputable public sector medical university/institution.
- Relaxation in upper age limit may be granted to suitable candidates as per statutes/rules of the Government of Punjab.

1. Apply online through the university job portal and complete the online application form carefully; no editing will be allowed after submission. Applicants must also submit a signed hard copy/printout of the same pre-filled online application form to:

2. Print the system-generated fee challan and deposit the job application processing fee through 1Link or at any branch of Bank of Punjab. The approved processing fee is:
- BPS-17 & above: Rs. 2,000/-
Applications submitted without the deposited system-generated fee challan will not be entertained. Deposited amount is non-refundable and non-transferable.
3. Attach attested copies of the following with the printed online application and submitted fee challan:
- CNIC
- Domicile
- All educational documents and certificates
- Experience certificates
- Any other relevant documents
4. Submit the printed online application form along with all attached documents in person or via courier to the Office of Human Resource Department by the closing date. Applicants working in public sector organizations must apply through proper channel. No TA/DA is admissible.
