About the role

NADRA is establishing the National Institute for Demographics and Identity Research (N@DIR), a specialized national research and technology institute focused on biometrics, digital identity, registration-process research, testing, and indigenous technology development. The Executive Director / Director General will provide strategic, scientific and institutional leadership, implement the institute roadmap, develop national research programmes, lead development of AFIS/ABIS and multimodal biometric technologies, and establish independent testing, benchmarking, standards and certification capabilities. The role includes building and leading multidisciplinary teams, developing research portfolios and technology roadmaps, and representing N@DIR nationally and internationally.

Eligibility

• Educational background: Master's / MS / MPhil in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Cybersecurity, Biometrics, Computer Vision, Digital Identity or a closely related discipline from an HEC-recognized institution. Degrees must be attested by HEC. Preference will be given to candidates holding a Ph.D. / Doctorate.

• Additional qualifications in biometrics, AI/ML, cybersecurity, digital identity, applied cryptography, technology management or related fields are an advantage.

• Professional experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant post-qualification experience, including substantial senior leadership experience in technology, research, engineering, biometrics, digital identity or high-assurance ICT systems. Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale R&D, technology innovation or engineering programmes, research prototyping, independent testing, benchmarking, pilot deployment and technology transfer is required. Experience in standards, certification, conformance testing, technology evaluation, intellectual property and commercialization is desirable.

• Age: Maximum 55 years (5 years general age relaxation is included in the above age limit).

• Serving employees in Government / Semi-Government departments must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview.

• Selected candidate must provide Medical Fitness and Character Certificates.
