About the role

Skyrooms Private Limited (SRL), a subsidiary of PIA Holding Company Limited (PIAHCL), operates Airport Hotel in Karachi near Jinnah International Airport. SRL invites applications from dynamic, accomplished and commercially astute hospitality professionals for the position of General Manager.

The General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership and deliver approved business objectives and performance targets. Responsibilities include overseeing front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, banqueting, engineering and utilities, security, and guest services.

The role involves driving occupancy, revenue, market share, profitability and service excellence through revenue management, sales, marketing and business development. The successful candidate will ensure sound asset stewardship, operational risk management, internal controls, safety, regulatory compliance and effective workforce management. They will also maintain effective relationships with PIAHCL, the Board and management, regulators, owners, business partners and other stakeholders.

Employment will be on a performance-based, KPI-driven contract, extendable subject to satisfactory performance, annual performance evaluation, business needs and approved terms.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a master's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration or an equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized institution.

At least 15 years of progressive relevant experience in hospitality, hotel management, business administration or related commercial operations is required. This must include at least five years as a General Manager, Hotel Manager or in an equivalent senior operational leadership position.

Candidates must demonstrate experience in commercially oriented hotel operations, including revenue, service quality, operating costs and overall business performance. Experience in airport or transit hospitality, high-volume food and beverage operations, or comparable hospitality operations is an advantage.

Applicants must be 40–55 years old on the closing date. Up to five years of relaxation in the upper age limit may be considered, subject to applicable policy and approval.

Candidates must satisfy the applicable fit-and-proper requirements under Section 16 read with Schedule IV of the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023.
