About the role
The Information Department, Government of Sindh is inviting applications from eligible male and female candidates holding a Sindh Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) for various clerical, technical and media support posts. Appointments will be made under applicable Sindh Civil Servants rules and the Defined Contribution Pension Scheme 2024. Candidates already in government service must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their department.
Posts and vacancies
- Stenographer — Vacancies: 4 — Scale: BPS-14 — Age: 21 to 28
- Qualifications: Intermediate (at least C grade); six months certificate in Shorthand and English Typing from an institute recognized by Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE); shorthand speed 120 w.p.m. and English typing 35 w.p.m. on computer; Certificate in MS Office from an SBTE-recognized institute.
- Steno Typist — Vacancies: 17 — Scale: BPS-14 — Age: 21 to 28
- Qualifications: Matriculation (at least C grade); six months certificate in Shorthand and English Typing from an SBTE-recognized institute; shorthand speed 120 w.p.m. and English typing 35 w.p.m.; Certificate in MS Office from an SBTE-recognized institute.
- Photographer — Vacancies: 10 — Scale: BPS-13 — Age: 21 to 28
- Qualifications: Graduation at least in 2nd Division from a university recognized by HEC; 6 months to 1 year Diploma in photography; 1–2 years' experience handling Digital/HD cameras and archiving.
- Junior Clerk — Vacancies: 15 — Scale: BPS-11 — Age: 21 to 28
- Qualifications: Graduation at least in 2nd Division from a university recognized by HEC; 6 months Certificate Course in MS Office from an institute recognized by Sindh Board of Technical Education / Trade Testing Board.
- Calligraphist — Vacancies: 1 — Scale: BPS-08 — Age: 18 to 28
- Qualifications: Intermediate (at least C grade) from a recognized board; at least 2 years' experience in calligraphy, art, pasting and publication.
- Assistant Cameraman — Vacancies: 1 — Scale: BPS-08 — Age: 18 to 28
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree at least in 2nd Division or equivalent CGPA from a university recognized by HEC; at least 2 years' experience in video recording of old and new Digital/HD systems, archiving/preserving and related techniques.
- Dark Room Attendant — Vacancies: 3 — Scale: BPS-05 — Age: 18 to 28
- Qualifications: Matriculation (at least C grade) from a recognized board; practical 2 years' experience in photography, developing and printing of films.
- Telephone Operator — Vacancies: 1 — Scale: BPS-05 — Age: 18 to 28
- Qualifications: Matriculation (at least C grade) from a recognized board; (MS Office certificate from an institute recognized by SBTE is listed).
- Electrician — Vacancies: 1 — Scale: BPS-05 — Age: 18 to 28
- Qualifications: Matriculation (at least C grade) from a recognized board; practical 2 years' experience in the relevant field with a certified Electrician Course.
Eligibility
- Candidates must hold a Sindh Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) / domicile of Sindh Province.
- Applicants must have successfully passed the General Screening Test for the relevant category (Bachelor, Intermediate & Matriculation) with at least 40% marks conducted by Sukkur IBA Testing Service (STS) and must possess the STS certificate.
- Age limits for each post are listed in the vacancy table above. Age will be calculated from the closing date of submission of applications. Upper age relaxation up to 5 years will be allowed as per the relevant government notification.
- Quotas will be observed as per Sindh government policy, including 15% Women, 5% Minorities and 5% Disabled quota.
- Appointees will be governed by the Defined Contribution Pension Scheme 2024 and by the Sindh Civil Servants Act, 1973/74 and its rules.
- Government employees must obtain an NOC from their department prior to submission and bring the original NOC to the interview.
- Candidates must appear before the Departmental Selection Committee with original documents as per the schedule uploaded on the job portal.
- No TA/DA will be admissible for the interview.
