About the role

The Office of the Chief Engineer Sukkur Barrage Left Bank Region is inviting applications for Data Processing Assistant positions in the Irrigation Department. Appointments will be made against specified vacancies in Rohri Canal Circle, Nasir Division and Hala Irrigation Division. Candidates will perform data processing duties as required by the Department.

Posts and vacancies

• Data Processing Assistant (BPS-12)

- Total posts: 6 (02 posts at Rohri Canal Circle, Hyderabad; 03 posts at Nasir Division, Hyderabad; 01 post at Hala Irrigation Division, Hala, District Matiari) - Age limit: 18 - 28 years (see eligibility for relaxation)

Eligibility

• Domicile: Candidates must have domicile of District Hyderabad or District Matiari.

• Educational qualification: (i) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission; OR Diploma in Information Technology (DIT).

• Experience: At least one year experience as Data Processing Assistant.

• Testing requirement: Applicants must have successfully passed the general screening test of Graduation Category with at least 40% marks conducted by IBA Sukkur testing services (STS) and possess the STS certificate issued by STS.

• Age calculation and relaxation: Age will be calculated from the closing date of submission as provided under rule-7 of Sindh Civil Servants (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit) Rule 2024. Upper age relaxation of five years will be allowed as per notification SGA&CD bearing No. SOII (SGA&CD)564/2011 (Part-II) dated 06-03-2025.

• Quota: Share of quota reserved for initial appointment will be adhered to as per Sindh Government rules/policy.

• Applicants already in service should obtain NOC from their respective department prior to submission and must bring the original NOC at the time of interview. Only eligible/shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. No TA/DA is admissible.
