The Regional Audit Head will assist the Head Operational Audit with annual operational audit planning. Responsibilities include preparing engagement plans and sampling matrices for each assignment, using OBIEE to gather relevant reports, and providing these plans to the team manager one day before the branch or office audit begins.
The role involves allocating resources according to the risk profile of each auditable entity, overseeing engagements within budgetary limits and approved people-days, and monitoring staffing requirements and schedules. The successful candidate will ensure the quality of audit reports, rating models, management letters and working paper files before release, confirm that required findings are included, approve reports with the team manager, and calculate audit ratings for review by the Head Operational Audit.
Other duties include reviewing policies and procedures for control effectiveness and compliance with regulatory directions and applicable laws; recommending updates to audit checklists and manuals; preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packages; reporting significant audit issues and management action updates; and maintaining financial and manpower budgets, with approval of breaches through the approved hierarchy.
The experience requirement is a minimum of 9–12 years, including at least three years in the Internal Audit Group of a commercial bank. Candidates must be up to 55 years old on the date of application.
