About the role

Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC) is inviting applications for several engineering positions for a newly established R&D Lab & Collaboration Center located in Islamabad. Successful candidates will lead design, automation, instrumentation, process engineering, and CAD activities for industrial plants and heavy equipment projects. Roles involve design, development, testing, commissioning, coordination with engineering teams, clients, contractors and vendors, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards.

Posts and vacancies

• Senior Manager Automation & Control (1 position)

- Lead automation, instrumentation, and control engineering activities for industrial plants and projects. - Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, VFDs and control systems. - Manage instrumentation selection, installation, calibration, testing and commissioning. - Coordinate with engineering teams, clients, contractors and vendors; ensure compliance with industry standards and drive system reliability and automation improvements.

• Senior CAD Designer (1 position)

- Develop and review 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models for mechanical components, assemblies and equipment. - Ensure designs meet GD&T, dimensional, material, tolerance, manufacturability and engineering standards. - Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Assembly teams; maintain CAD data, BOMs, revisions and documentation; support manufacturing, assembly, testing and mentor junior designers.

• Process Engineer (1 position)

- Lead plant process design and engineering including process development, optimization, equipment selection and sizing. - Develop and review H&MB, process simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets and design specifications. - Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ISO, NFPA and relevant safety and industry standards; coordinate with engineering teams, consultants, EPC contractors and vendors through procurement, commissioning and troubleshooting.

• Mechanical Design Engineer (1 position)

- Develop mechanical designs and 3D CAD models for equipment, machinery, components and assemblies. - Apply engineering standards, GD&T, tolerances, material selection and manufacturability requirements. - Prepare and maintain BOMs, engineering drawings, specifications and revision-controlled documentation; coordinate with teams to support fabrication, testing and commissioning.

• Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (1 position)

- Lead mechanical design for heavy equipment and machinery. - Review and approve designs, calculations and specifications; ensure compliance with ASME, API, ASTM, ISO and project standards. - Coordinate with engineering teams, clients, vendors and contractors; lead the mechanical team and ensure quality of deliverables.

Eligibility

• Senior Manager Automation & Control: Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university. Minimum 9 years of relevant experience. Engineering background shall be preferred.

• Senior CAD Designer: DAE Mechanical or BSc Technology from a recognized university. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.

• Process Engineer: Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university. Minimum 6 years of relevant experience. Chemical Engineering background shall be preferred.

• Mechanical Design Engineer: Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university. Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. PEC-registered Engineer shall be preferred.

• Principal Mechanical Design Engineer: Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university. Minimum 15 years of relevant experience. PEC-registered Mechanical Engineer shall be preferred.
