GL Control Officer (OG-II)

About the role

National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) is hiring a GL Control Officer to join the Financial Control team based in Karachi. The role reports to the Unit Head of the GL Control Unit and supports GL balancing, validation, reporting and follow up with stakeholders. Employment is on a contractual basis for three years, renewable at management's discretion. Selected candidates will be offered a compensation package and benefits in accordance with Bank policy.

Eligibility

• Minimum Graduation from a university/college/institute recognized by the HEC of Pakistan.

• ACCA qualified and/or ICMA qualified and/or CA Part Qualified.

• Minimum 02 years of experience in Finance and/or Accounts and/or Articleship, preferably with a financial institution and/or audit firm.

• Hands-on experience in handling GL accounts is preferred.

• Understanding of business and financial acumen.

• Good business communication, report writing and analytical skills.

• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word; basic understanding of Power BI.

• Well conversant with relevant regulatory guidelines.

Outline of main duties/responsibilities:

• Collect data regarding GL balancing and validation for review.

• Enlist all non-balancing and non-validation GL issues and compile reasons.

• Maintain and update records of outstanding GL balancing and non-validation issues for monitoring and follow up with stakeholders.

• Assist in identifying recurring GL balancing discrepancies and provide information for corrective action and resolution.

• Prepare summarized and periodic MIS reports for GL balancing.

• Perform other assignments as required by supervisors.
