About the role

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is recruiting commissioned officers for its Medical Branch through the 138 Combat Support Course. Applications are invited from male and female citizens of Pakistan under the Special Purpose Short Service Commission (SPSSC).

Specialists will join at the rank of Squadron Leader, while General Duty Dental Officers will join at the rank of Flight Lieutenant. Both categories have a 24-week training period at PAFAA.

Medical Branch Specialists — SPSSC

The following specialist disciplines are available at the rank of Squadron Leader:

General Duty Dental Officers — SPSSC

General Duty Dental Officers will join at the rank of Flight Lieutenant. Applicants must hold a BDS or equivalent qualification and have completed a one-year house job.

Eligibility

All applicants must be male or female citizens of Pakistan and possess a NADRA Smart CNIC and a Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) certificate.

Medical specialists: Applicants must be between 25 and 35 years old on 15 April 2027. Their specialization must be from a Pakistani or foreign medical college or university recognized by PMDC. They must possess a valid PMDC certificate. Age relaxation up to 45 years may be granted with approval from the competent authority.

General Duty Dental Officers: Applicants must be between 25 and 33 years old on 15 April 2027. They must hold a BDS or equivalent qualification from a Pakistani or foreign medical college or university recognized by PMDC, with a one-year house job. A minimum of 60% marks or a GPA of 2.5 out of 4 is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience beyond their house job.

Ineligibility conditions

The following candidates are ineligible:

• Candidates twice rejected by ISSB for postgraduate entry.

• Candidates twice rejected by ISSB for intermediate or graduate entry, including PMA or graduate-equivalent entry, and once rejected by an ISSB, GHQ, NHQ, or AHQ-based selection board.

• Candidates once rejected by ISSB for intermediate or graduate entry, including PMA or graduate-equivalent entry, and twice rejected by an ISSB, GHQ, NHQ, or AHQ-based selection board.

• Candidates twice screened out by ISSB.

• Candidates dismissed, removed, or debarred from government service, including the Armed Forces.

• Candidates tested within four months, or 120 days, of their previous ISSB appearance, unless the competent authority grants a waiver. This 120-day restriction does not apply to candidates appearing before GHQ, NHQ, or AHQ selection boards.

• Candidates convicted by a court of law for a heinous offence, as determined by the competent military authority.

• Candidates permanently declared unfit by an Appeal Medical Board.

• Candidates declared medically unfit because of Hepatitis B or C; an Appeal Medical Board cannot be requested in these cases.

• Candidates withdrawn from a bonded Armed Forces college or institution on disciplinary grounds.

• Candidates withdrawn, discharged, resigned, or released through purchase from an Armed Forces officers' academy or training institution on any grounds.

• Applicants who tamper with academic certificates, commit forgery, or conceal information to gain an undue advantage. Such applicants become permanently ineligible for all types of commission in the Armed Forces.

• Candidates screened out three times during Army, Navy, or Air Force preliminary selection.

Selection procedure

1. Online registration at www.joinpaf.gov.pk.
2. An intelligence test followed by an academic test in the relevant subjects at the respective PAF Information and Selection Centre.
3. Initial medical examination, physical test, and interview at the PAF Information and Selection Centre.
4. A psychological test for shortlisted candidates.
5. Interview by the AHQ Selection Board at Rawalpindi, Lahore, or Karachi.
6. Final medical examination at CMB, Lahore.
7. Interview by the Final AHQ Selection Board, Islamabad.
8. Final selection by AHQ in order of merit.
