Medical Officer and Registered Nurse Vacancies at Punjab Health and Population Department

About the role

The Health and Population Department, Government of the Punjab, invites applications from qualified and experienced Medical Officers, Women Medical Officers and Registered Nurses under the Chief Minister Punjab initiatives. The positions carry a special pay package.

Medical Officer and Women Medical Officer posts are at DHQ Hospital Sheikhupura. Registered Nurse posts are at four Tehsil Headquarters Hospitals of Lahore.

Medical Officer/Women Medical Officer posts are available in the following specialties:

1. General Surgery
2. General Medicine
3. Paediatrics
4. Gynaecology and Obstetrics
5. Radiology
6. Orthopaedics
7. Anaesthesia
8. Neurosurgery

Registered Nurse positions are also available.

The department reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacant posts.

Eligibility

All Medical Officer/Women Medical Officer specialties require an MBBS degree with valid PMDC registration. Additional requirements are:

• General Surgery: Postgraduate training (FCPS/MS) in General Surgery or equivalent.

• General Medicine: Postgraduate training (FCPS/MD) in General Medicine, Intensive and Critical Care Management, or equivalent.

• Paediatrics: Postgraduate training (FCPS/MD) in Paediatric Medicine or equivalent.

• Gynaecology and Obstetrics: Postgraduate training (FCPS/MS) in Gynaecology and Obstetrics or equivalent.

• Radiology: Postgraduate training (FCPS/MD) in Radiology or equivalent, or five years of working experience in a Radiology Department.

• Orthopaedics: Postgraduate training (FCPS/MS) in Orthopaedic Surgery or equivalent, or five years of working experience in an Orthopaedic Department.

• Anaesthesia: Postgraduate training in Anaesthesiology or equivalent, or a Diploma in Anaesthesia with three years of working experience, or five years of working experience in an Anaesthesiology Department.

• Neurosurgery: Postgraduate training (FCPS/MS) in Neurosurgery or equivalent, or five years of working experience in a Neuro Department.

Quota provisions will be followed wherever applicable.
